Glittering hold up Ouija Board foals Galileos enormous filly

Lord Derby"s champion racemare Ouija Board gave birth to her third foal, a "cracking filly" by Galileo at her owner"s Stanley House Stud in Newmarket at the weekend.

Connections are doubly pleased as it is the first filly that the seven time Group 1 winner has foaled following colts by Kingmambo and Monsun.

Her first produce, the Kingmambo, has been named Voodoo Prince and is currently a two-year in training with his dam"s former trainer Ed Dunlop.

Ouija Board retired in 2006 after a glittering career for Dunlop that included victories in the Breeders Cup Filly & Mare Turf (twice), English Oaks, Irish Oaks as well as the Prince of Wales"s Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Stud manager Peter Stanley commented: "Ouija Board foaled a cracking filly by Galileo on Saturday night. She has good size and bone and she looks the spitting image of her mother.

"Hopefully she will be able to join her mother on our broodmare band in the future."

Stanley also said that Pat Cronin, who had served for 25 years as Stud Groom at Stanley House Stud, has now retired.

"Pat retired at the end of last year after 25 years with us and now lives on a house on the Stud," he said.

"We have since promoted our second man Andrew to his position and he supervised Ouija Board"s foaling at the weekend."
